Abstract

ln a three-year period (May 87 to June 90), were treated 157 patients bearers of nonspecific acute urethritis by Chlamydia trachomatis, all they of clinical origin, and that search us with complaints of morning urethral secretion. ln all cases the diagnostic was confirmed through of urethral and for vaginal and endocervical secretion exam, collected directly in laboratory, by monoclonal antibody direct method; all the collects and analyses were performed at sarne Jaboratory. The patients received initially 750mg of thiamphenicol per day, divided in three dosages {250mg three times a day for 10 days; after, it begun the employ of 2.5gr in two first days, followed of 1 grperday {500mg each 12 hours) for 10 days; and, finally, 1 grperday(500mgeach 12 hours) fot- 10 days.
